A while back, I noticed that no series that are represented that have multiple characters, but no secret characters.
For the Donkey Kong series, given that Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong both seem to play a primary role in the SSE, I expect that they are both starters. If that's the case, I expect DK to get a third rep (most likely K. Rool.)
As for the Kirby series, since Kirby and Meta Knight both have large roles in SSE, while we have seen nothing about Dedede, I expect him to be an unlockable. The only series to ever have 3 starters was Mario in Melee with Peach and Bowser by his side. If however, Dedede is a starter, I would expect Kirby to get a 4th character. I would be highly surprised if Dedede was a starter, but if he was, I would say the 4th character would be Lolo, who would be getting in mainly because of the merits of his own series.
Metroid is an interesting one. Since ZSS can easily be considered a separate character or the same character, there's no real way of knowing.
I expect Ike to be the only starter for FE. If he is not however, I expect either Marth or Micaiah to be the other starter, while the other would be an unlockable.
That's basically it, I can really only comment on these series because they're somewhat in the middle representation-wise. Smaller than Mario, LoZ, and Pokemon, while larger than F-Zero or MOTHER.
