Character Mods/hacks on the 3ds

No. The 3ds hasn't been hacked to my knowledge. Except when Pokemon X and Y were out to leak details.

For Glory mode already turned every stage into Final Destination. Put in an option for Wavedashing, and BAM! Project M. What other motivations are there to hack the game now?

The 3DS has been hacked, but it's mostly just small stuff like giving Pokemon impossible moves and such.

Perhaps hackers/modders would want to make texture edits or something? Ireallydunnowhattathinkaboutthis.

Meh, there's very little reason for modders and hackers, at least at first, to do anything with the game other than access the game's code and pick it apart for any hints as to what was originally planned for the game and/or anything on how it connects to the Wii U version (if Sakurai doesn't announce this until after release).

You're right, there are modders out there who aren't Project M... like me. Still, Brawl hacking only got as far as it did thanks to glitchy games, glitchy system, and lack of punishment for modding your console.

We COULD hack the game all the same with custom discs or cartridges, but without the convenience of compromising console security through an sd card, I'm not expecting hacks near the level of Wii Homebrew ever again.

The Wii, PSP and Nintendo DS are really anomalies in the console hacking verse, there's a lot of work going into R4-like systems for 3DS, so I could see it being possible

This may be as far as we go when it comes to hacking, with more security, I really doubt we'll be modding anytime soon.
