character disappointment

olimar's update was like a hard kick to the face for me. the characters are starting to get ridiculous. capn falcon, falco, mewtwo, etc should definitely not be kicked out now....right? they're taking out good fighter characters and adding gimmicky *******. i was fine with pokemon trainer, i even let diddy kong slide because it seemed like a good concept, but captain olimar? and another thing, did anyone notice how horribly polygonal this character looks? it looks like he's straight out of the nintendo64. now he can still be good with an interesting moveset, but i doubt it. any opinions? now i know ill get many a "YOU FAIL!" from the children in the boards, but hopefully there's still some rational people on these forums. i mean, sakurai could literally put a potato into the game and some people would think its the greatest thing ever.

How can you expect rational responses if your topic is irrational? You make no solid claims as to why Captain Olimar disappoints you. Did you ever play the games? Because I get the impression from your post that you have not. They are very solid gaming experiences.

I obviously have not played Brawl so I cannot say whether he'll be a good fighter or not, but at least the roster is getting creative. Really, what other character in all of gaming is like Olimar? None! Very original concept that should have an interesting balance system with the Pikmin.

I have high hopes for Captain Olimar.

But I think you'll get flamed more for creating a new threat for this under general discussion when it should be under character discussion.

Olimar is going to be a great character.

I don't see Sakurai cutting many Melee characters, if he does then we need to let him know that he should make them as an expansion to stick on Wii Shop.
