I think the only way to fit a Character Creator in BRAWL would be making it character specific and all.

Give each a standard set like:

Swordsman (close combat/sword based moves/ike)

Fist Fighter (close combat/punching and kicking/mario)

Magician (far-ranged/mainly spells/zelda)

Maybe and extra style or two in that area.

Then, you could alter generic things like:

Overall Size and such.

Then have a balanced share of things(balanced meaning, if you have more weight you have less Jump Length, this is a core thing too keep the imbalance out of the game) like:

Speed,

Strength,

Weight,

Jump Length,

etc.

And character-wise maybe a system resembling what spore will have. http://www.spore.com/screenshots.php?movieID=1&play=hi

so your person is well, personal.

Any people agree with me?

Or is my head too high in the clouds?

This COULD work if it had stat limits. Otherwise, broken characters all over.
I was meaning that in one sentence "balanced meaning, if you have more weight you have less Jump Length, this is a core thing too keep the imbalance out of the game"

same for strength, like. more strength less speed.

stuff like that.

As my ancestors would say at a time like this, Snap dawg. Maybe if they didn't add in a customizable Animal Crossing Character or Miis at all. I just don't see how it's in the smash spirit (Bringing together the toughest heroes and villians in all the games and having 'em duke it out.) A good idea, but I'm not sure if the time has come yet.

there not gonna put in a character customazation. i cannot spell for the life of me. anywho, they wont let you create your own character, the whole game is so character based. Link, Samus, Snake, Mario, some of the most famous videogame characters ever.

Character Customize in Brawl to me is dumb no matter how you look at it, giving us several pre-made outfits to choose from like they did in Melee seems fine w/ me, cant expect too much in this area.

It could happen, but won't.
With you're original idea, the customizable characters would suck and be broken beyond belief.

Maybe if they had stats, and, I know you'll all hate this, but: A clone of another character, just with a different appearance but alike in size.

i read the topic and thought it looked good, but your idea wasn't like i had imagened - i didn't really like it.

Character customization would be great though even if it was quite mild, such as making a small emblem of your own or something to attach to your character. (like ball capsules on pearl and diamond) Or you can choose which colour their clothes were (a bit like the current system but you can mix the colours up and add more variety.) Something like that to add a bit of personality to your character.
