Character Conflicts

I'm still deciding a main and trying to spend even more time on smash boards while watching Apex and playing with most characters. I've noticed some characters benefit from using the C-Stick or Z for aerials while other characters rely more on using A. Things like that are giving me conflicts between characters. I've been using Captain Falcon a lot and started to play a bit of Peach for some knowledge on her but she plays so much differently. Will this create conflicts on how I play in the future depending on what character I decide to stick with or will adapting not be as hard as i'm thinking. Thanks for the help! :kirby:

There will always be some degree of overlapping skill between characters. It's still Melee

Idk how true this is, but 1 Peach player's signature is something like 'Peach players have bad secondaries but Peach is a great secondary'. It also applies to me so maybe it might be true for some. She's weird. She has a float and doesn't need l canceling, which makes her very different from other characters. She doesn't combo as much nor gets comboed as much as others. Going from Peach to Falcon will be interesting

I highly recommend that you focus on one character, I focus a lot and I mean a lot on jigglypuff. But I have a Samus, I'll use against bad matchups. Always have a plan b, focus on the character you feel you're best with. But have a secondary to bust out against bad matchups.

You're only as good as your best character. Have 1 higher ceiling rather than 2 lower ceilings

There are some cases where having more than 1 character works really well (M2k PPMD) but It doesn't work for everyone. I'm just trying to see how my Falco will do. More likely than not I might actually give it up in the near future. Gotta play him in more tournaments first.

Having 2 characters is a bad idea until you've mastered 1. You can only play 1 character at a time, so if your time and energy and skill are split between 2 characters, it doesn't matter for that 1 match.

Also in tournament, if you have 2 characters you spend the whole time agonizing over which character you should pick. After you lose, you spend more time thinking bout whether or not you picked the right character than about what you did wrong and what you need to improve.

That being said Samus/Falco is a 90/10 matchup in Samus' favor and 100% you should pick Puff for it lol (jk kinda not really)

ANYWAY pick the character you feel the most. Follow your heart.

Pick the character that:

1. You like the most
2. You see the most potential in (with regards to yourself)
3. You're the best at

Well, I've already put in a lot of time with Marth, but I have been playing Falco as well. After seeing PP at Apex, I was wondering what I should do? I kept Falco for bad matchups so I thought I would just learn his tech and then just keep him where he is.
