Chances of this game being released early?

Seven months is too long of a wait, honestly. I mean, I've been patient this long, so it's not THAT big of a deal...but, HD Smash, new game, it's got me hyped.

What if the 3DS version doesn't hold our attention for all those months? :/

Its portable, why wouldn't it hold our attention? People are on the move more than ever nowadays.

If the 3ds version won't hold your attention for long I doubt the Wii U version will. Don't worry about it. Distract yourself with something else. The 3ds version will be fine for a while.

It will. Hopefully, both games will have the exact same mechanics. We both know Smash is a timeless game, and you can always develop those skills.

If by ''early'' you meant november, then I think it might be possible, but I'd be really surprised if it released earlier than that. Anyways! Don't worry about the 3DS version, Nintendo is known for making games that have perfect gameplay

Too be honest, an e-shop demo with only four characters, two stages, a few items, and only local play could hold me over that long. The 3DS is going to have the amount of content of at least Melee. It'll be just fine. I mean seriously, it's going to have a(probably) good online.

My apologies if I sound negative, I'm just really hyped over this game. xD

But I'm just worried that the 3DS version won't be remembered/competitive when the Wii U version comes out. Since, ya know, it'll be the definitive version. Eh...guess time will tell.

Looking at all the 3DS games that have online capacities right now, I am 100% sure we'll see good online

I'm excited for the 3DS one, but I agree, I don't think it'll hold my attention as long as the Wii U one will. But I'd love to be proven wrong.

It's just not as exciting. I also kinda wish it wasn't a thing.

Need I remind you that the 3DS sales are greater than the Wii-U's, the amount of people who keep playing until the Wii-U version will depend on how long they can put up with the 3DS controls cquse that seems to be the concern of a lot of people and I can understand why.
