Hi. I'm Wello. Just to clarify, some people pronounce it as Well-o but it's actually We-low, not that it really matters but idk it bugs me sometimes. Anyway...
I've been a smash fan since melee, started playing in 2005 when I was 8. Me and my friends would have loads of fun, we played everyday. To this day Melee is the game that brings me the most nostalgia as it was the smash game I poured the most hours into, with Brawl coming in at a close second. Sadly, I never owned a Wii U so I never got to experience smash 4, but I did get to play it a couple of times. The only times I got to play 64 was when I would go to my friends house who had a N64. Even though I wasn't aware of the competitive scene at the time I played these games, I still loved them and got endless amounts of enjoyment out of them.
That being said, I am so glad I discovered the competitive side of smash. It all started when a friend told me about the documentary, this was early 2018. After watching the Doc my eyes were opened, I had no idea smash could be played like that. I'm a bit of a sports fan and this combined my love of sports and video games in a way nothing else has. I started watching tournaments for both Melee and Smash 4 but I prefer to watch Melee because I have more experience playing it. My favorite players are Mang0 and M2k from Melee and Zero and Tweek from Smash 4. So when Ultimate came out I knew I wanted to play this game competitively. One of the characters that I've had the most fun playing in every smash game was ness, and now that he's viable in Ultimate I decided to main him
Currently I'm hovering at 3.1-3.3 mil GSP with ness. I know that to get elite smash you have to get around 3.6 mil right now. So I'm not really sure as to how good I really am. This is why I want to start entering tournaments.
I live in Missouri and the tournament listings are pretty small but I found one that I think will be a good experience. I'm attending CoMo Game Expo in Columbia this weekend. there are about 80 competitors so far so if any of you on here are going let me know so we can play some friendlies. And if we meet in bracket YOU'RE GOING DOWN... jk I hope we'd have a good set.
Well this got longer than I intended but hopefully you learned a little about me, I look forward to learning more about all of you.
