i've just discovered that you can dthrow chaingrab at least a fox to high damage by just holding l and alternately tapping down and a (down to throw and a to catch again). unfortunately i don't have any actual people to test on, and i somehow doubt that the computer set to evade is anything to go by since i got him up to 106% before he got out. could someone give me details on the characters you can do this to and how well it really works against human players?

This is a known fact. Falco can only chain throw Fox, as all other characters can tech out. Fox has counters to this tho, such as Smash DI or Shining out of it. You can do this probably once or twice per match, before it becomes predictable and ineffective.

Downthrow, Fox is weird with it so he can't tech. Then you can follow with another grab to "chaingrab", but Fox can shine out.

You can chaingrab by down throwing Fox, but they can get out it if they DI away. So what I saw in a Forward video was mix in a back throw too. (In the video below I used alot more back throws cause I figured he was expecting me to use down throws)

at 0:52 is when it starts. You have to mindgame it in order for it to work.
It's hard to pull of but I've managed to actually use it on a few friends on rare occasions.

I think any character lighter than Falco is unable to tech his down throw under normal circumstances.
