hey duders. My youth organization is hosting a huge three-day multi-game tournament/fest. One of the games featured is Smash, which will likely be the largest tournament. Other games include but are certainly not limited to Halo 3, Mario Kart: DD, Pokemon D/P, Guitar Hero 3, Madden, and Counter-Strike. Rules for any game are competitive standards.

All of the pot goes back to the players for any given tournament. Not sure about the distribution yet, probably only $$$ for the top 4. There will be many local nobodies attending to beef up the pot. Smash finals will be double-broadcast on a giant projector.

Out of the 24 tvs we have room for, 8 will be devoted to Smash. There will be lots of time for friendlies, free-play, and mm's. The weekend pass and day pass costs are strictly for being in the building. The tournaments themselves have a separate cost (likely will be $5) to enter, and we will not take money out of any pot.

BRING ID! We need to be able to verify your age and record names for sign in/out.

All proceeds benefit the Center Community Youth Organization
Consoles, TVs, and Controllers

If you have an extra TV you are willing to bring for the weekend we are in need. We currently only have 12 and we have room for 24.

BYOC – Bring your own controller. We may have extra controllers for some systems but you will have to put up a deposit to use it. Do not bring wireless Gamecube controllers. They will not be allowed for tournaments.

Bring any console/game. Tournaments can be held for anything if there is interest. All tournament pot money goes back to the players.
Computers

Bring the following:
1 or several switches and/or hubs. Routers too, but we need switches and hubs the most.
1 or several power strips.
1 or several long Ethernet cables.
Extra monitor/tower power cords.
Headphones
Other obvious peripherials .

DO NOT BRING SPEAKERS! They will not be allowed.
DO NOT DAISY CHAIN POWER STRIPS!

Other Notes:
Wifi may reach the basement but you WILL need to be on our LAN to play any LAN games.
Lodging

Lodging will be in the building and is covered with the entrance fee.

There will be couches for lounging, playing DS and for sleeping. The side room will also have space for sleeping. Bring sleeping items if you wish to sleep comfortably.
Food/Drinks

Food and drinks will be available 24/7 at reasonable prices.

No food is permitted upstairs.

There is a mall close by with a lot of fast food and restaurant choices if you wish to eat elsewhere.
Layout

Upstairs: Consoles, Sign in/out and Bracket printing
Down: Computers, Food, Restrooms
Side Room: Movies, Card Games, and Board Games
Arriving and Leaving

All doors will be locked with the exception of the front door.

All equipment must me labeled and signed in if any is brought.

Those with weekend passes and stamps for that day may come and go as they please but they must sign in/out. This is to prevent theft and to make sure people don't get in unpaid.
If you lose your wrist band or stamp you will have to pay again. And don’t try the wet stamp transfer trick, we aren’t stupid.

This venue seriously rocks guys. Don't pass this **** up.

Coming to this. Making a topic was a smart idea. Also, I think there will be less than 8 dedicated smash setups, more like 4 normally and 6 TOPS during the tournament. At any rate, the venue is ****ing awesome. For you vets, this is the place we held the two SitC tournaments a couple years back and it's being run by almost the same people.

Can't wait.

FFA mlg rules, 2 advancing, then I believe 1v1s when a good number of people are knocked out.

There will be good Halo players there.

edit: lol thnx 9volt

Although I am not familiar with mlg rules, don't you mean FFA with 2 advancing? 4v4 implies that there are teams.
