If you saw the Direct, you may have noticed that when Marth was in his helpless state his cape wasn't moving, just staying there. In the demonstration about Jungle Japes, Link performed his up special & was seen moving, but his hat wasn't.

Did anyone else notice that?

What time were these scenes? I'll take a look, but I don't really have any inclination to watch the whole video again.

Also, if this is the case, it's likely just unpolished animation.

This is the 3DS stage, no? It could be due to hardware limitations. At the beginning (?) they also said certain things may change, and this could be an
unpolished animation.
that will be fixed in the near future.

It could also be a way to keep the battle from having too many little things flashing around the screen. We already have enough movement, flashing lights, and explosions that more subtle movements on such a small screen are probably not worth it.

I think it'll get fixed, but if it remains unanimated it may just be a small way to take a load off of the 3DS's processors.

Sorry, that's what I meant. Was pretty tired when I posted that.Unfinished would have been a better word.

It'll likely be fixed, but even if not, it's not something that'd bother people too much, I think. If it's intentional and for the purpose of keeping things smooth, by all means leave it be I'd say.
