I can SHFFL perfectly in place but I just CANNOT do it while moving
I know the pros do it all the time and when I ask people they don't say much
Is there something I'm missing in the controls?

What exactly is the problem? As in the laser is too high? You fast fall before the laser get's out?

You have to tap shortly to the side you want to move towards before imputing the aereal or after. (Depends if you want to fade back or over-shoort an aereal)

So if you're running straight and want to keep going straight (all in one direction), jump while still holding the direction, input the aerial (c-stick allows maximum distance, otherwise you'll have to stop holding the direction to input the aerial), the fast fall and l cancel (you can tap/hold the direction again after inputting the fast fall as well for further control)

Input the direction while you're still in the air, and input the SHFFL actions.

It's pretty easy. What I instinctively picked up (and later heard Ken say he did the same), was dashing immediately before the jump. It keeps momentum going so you can be mobile.
