Hi guys, I was just looking for some help and/or suggestions on how to fix the error I mentioned above. So since earlier this evening I've been trying to play Project M. I got it working for a little while. Then I decided to pop in Melee to play for a little bit.
When I put melee in my Wii, it came up with an error saying that it couldn't read the disc. I took the disc out and (due to my N64 instincts) blew softly into the disc drive in an attempt to dislodge any dust. I tried to play Melee again, and I got the same error. I thought, "Oh well, I don't need to deal with it now, I might as well go back to Project M." Upon going back to Project M, I found that upon finishing a match, the Wii would always give me an *Unable to Read Disc* error.
Around this point I noticed that my Melee disc was scratched in a circular shape. So far I've assumed that it was from something to do with the Wii's disc reading head. Either because of a problem that it was having before, or because of me blowing in the disc bay. My Brawl disc remained largely unscratched. That is, it has no more scratches now than it did before this whole fiasco.
I've been looking around online, and people (in response to Brawl players) often suggest one of three things:
1. Send your Wii back to Nintendo, which will fix your Wii and let it play Brawl again.
2. Buy a Nintendo lens cleaning kit, shown here, and clean your Wii.
3. Buy a Tri-Wing screwdriver and open your Wii up to try to identify and fix whatever the problem may be.
I was just wondering what people here might suggest in response to my particular question.
Thank you so much for your help!
