Cannot connect to Partner's Device....

Ever since the 50-Fact Extravaganza, i've had the question of "Should I buy the Wii LAN Adapter?" I still haven't, but if I ever come across one in a store or online (I don't think they're in stores anymore), i'll try to buy it. Anyway, Smash WiiU came out and occasionally in For Glory I get this message when connecting on 1vs1, "Cannot connect to partner's device." I thought it might be that the person has a Wii LAN Adapter and I don't so it wasn't possible to connect. I kept believeing that since release date which also happens to be when I abandoned 3ds FG. I came back to it today and I got the message on 3ds, too. What? Wii LAN Adapter on a 3ds, wait a minute.. Does anyone know what's causing this error to appear? I don't mind it not letting me play as I can just join again and i'll get a match. I'm just curious, is all.

It sometimes happens to me and my best guess is that it has to do with people youre going to be paired up with and them suddenly disconnecting as the match is going to start because it doesnt seem to happen twice in a row

It's happened to me three times in a row before. Might've been four, cant remember. But I thought that, too, until it happened multiple times in a row to me.
