Can you revisit old stages in SSE with new characters?

What I mean is, can you go back to a stage you completed in the SSE and choose which characters you want to play as. For example say you want to go to the cloud level where you would usually have just Mario and Pit. Could you go there and choose Link and Pikachu to go together? Anybody know?

Yeah. I've always wanted to know this too. To be honest it would be a bit lame if you couldn't.

Like a stage select mode, you could play through every level as a free chosen pair, even as Toon Link, Jiggs and Wolf.

Playing through the whole game as Sonic and Mario would be leet. Of course it would be missing FMV and cut scenes, but I sure hope there is a free level select.

Yea, iIbeleive that once you complete SSE, you can choose any level you wish to play and play it with any character.

It gets really boring watching a guy try to unlock characters when playing the same stage over and over again using the same characters.

There are youtube videos like that, because I watched Pikachu and Captain Falcon fighting Petey. Don't have the link though.

That was definitely a great insight to help extend replay value. Plus it would be great when teaming up with a friend, and you can use cool pairs like Mario and Luigi.

Yes once you go through all stages you have to replay a good 75% of the stages again to get 100% is you missed going through some doors. you must go through every door plus play every stage twice on two different difficulties . and you can choose whatever character to play each stage however no cut scene will appear. (also no mater what when you first play Kirby will always fight Petey) also when you are replaying stages this is where you unlock young link jiggly puff and wolf to play on stages who do not normally make an appearances in SSE. And each one gets a solo special movie which completes the cut scene mode. I watched all this through one of the live streams but stopped when he had a two stages to go cause i was to tired so i'm not sure what you get for 100%

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering where that Wolf cutscene came from if he wasn't in the SSE.
