Can Vertex Hacks Cause Desync?

I play Brawl+, I like customizing it with vertex hacks, will it cause desyncs in replay/online?
Also that if ever I get a replay with a vertex hack included, then I remove the vertex hack, will it still sync?

They shouldn't as long as you're only using the the characterXX.pacs and pcs.

Model swaps will cause desyncs, unless of course the other person Is using the exact same model as you which is unlikely.

BTW, Tekkaman for Captain Falcon wasn't a model swap it was just a really good vertex hack of Captain Falcon.
