Can someone clue me in?

There are tons of topics today about there being 48 Characters, and Ness, Marth, and Roy being removed. What other news is there, and for that matter, where did everyone get the idea that there are 48 characters, and that Ness, Marth, and Roy has been removed? Is it true? Is it a rumor? And are their any more news that I missed? With the tons of topics, and with the bad server this forum is on, it'll be difficult to find any of it myself.

Don't listen to them. People are interpreting and misinterpreting the Famitsu magazine as saying that Ness/Marth/Roy are out when it doesn't actually say either of them are out. Also, the 48 characters thing has no valid source. Carry on.

So basically both of those are rumors? I've gotten to the point where I don't give rumors a second though. And are there any other news? Or is everything else just rumor too?

I've also read somewhere that Square-Enix has some envolvment, but I couldn't figure out what. It was in some page on a long long topic, where people kept quoting each other about SE, and I couldn't trace it back to whatever page it started on.

I would just call it another rumor until something solid comes in. All of this seems self-interpreting to me.

I stopped believing rumors long ago. As for news, check Brawl Central for Whobby impressions (NOT THE NESS/MARTH/ROY THING). The impressions are from the World Hobby Fair, and they're pretty good. It talks about movesets for PT, DDD, and Wario.

Those I've seen, but wasn't sure if they were believeable or not.

The 48 thing is an article from a magazine(i think) there's a scan 'n **** that sais there are 48 characters.

The Roy, Marth ness thing, is just them appearing in an article in Famitsu(i think) with a heading sayin "Do you remember Marth Roy or Ness" etc etc, but it doesn't say anything about them being out.
