Can Peach catch her own dropped turnips?

I was attempting to do this by double jumping + Z, then fastfalling just below and to the side so that i could attempt a catch in midair with z. was hoping a more skilled player could either 1) get this sequence to work or 2) confirm if its even possible

i don't see much of a tactical use for it, but it would be a neat trick to have i suppose.

If I recall correctly, you cannot recatch a turnip in the air after dropping it in the same jump, but you can catch it after landing. For example, Peaches and Links like to short hop Z drop and fastfall and catch on the ground with A. Again, there's not much application for this, just style points.

Yes you can, jump, and when you start falling drop the turnip with Z, then right when you land press A to pick it up again.
