I've come to realize I play horribly with the Wii U controller online. However, on the 3DS, I play pretty decently... but I can't find a way to play Online for the Wii U, but using my 3DS to battle. Is it possible to do this?

Can I Use the 3DS Online on Wii U?

No. You can only use the 3ds as a controller offline in Smash mode, 8 Player Smash, or Special Smash,
