Can anyone find where it was ever said that all originals are returning?

I know that it has been said by many, including myself, that all the originals are returning.

Ness, Cap. Falcon, Jigglypuff and Luigi have yet to appear on the scene. Given rumors that Lucas of Mother 3 fame will appear in the game (although it still hasn't been said whether he will actually replace Ness or merely be a second EB character) as well as the fact that, well, they all were the secret characters in SSB1 makes me wonder.


Did Sakurai actually say all the originals would be in? Or did we all say it so much that we have taken it as fact?

He never said that all originals are returning. People who claim he did are just basing it off a rumor that has been proved false.

Sakurai said "Not all characters from Melee are returning" and some took it to mean just the people who were new to Melee.
