can anyone do the infinate ledge illusion stall?

ive been trying to do this, its pretty hard. now, i DO NOT want to drop down and double jump into the illusion. i want to know if its possible to just drop off the edge and illusion stall, constantly.

ive tried going back and forth really quick on the analog (same motion as samus' SWD) and ive tried by releasing the edge with the Cstick and trying to illusion, but i just cant seem to get it.

any possible ways that can help?

while you're at it, you might as well shorten the illusion to make it even shorter.

sounds like something that shoulda been in perfect control (2). haha, lol @ 4 fox/falco's illusioning onto edge at once...

Yeah, it's possible without double jump. It's the only thing I can do better than Silent Wolf LOL
I can get like 8 in a row, but on average i get like 4.

Yup, I can get it as well, but at a 40% probability, so I stick with the Firefox. It's better imo. I use the SWD way.

And the shortening sounds like it might cut time. I'll try that out tomorrow.

"ding - grab - ding - grab - ding - grab" ...and not

"ding - soup - grab - ding - soup - grab" ........know what i mean?

so its not actually illusioning, but ur stalling by grabbing the edge and cancelling the whole illusion.

why do it in the first place? the firefox I think the firefox does the same thing, but is just waaay easier to do...because the firefox cancels before it starts...so i dont see how this is a better method.

lol guys its not that hard. what u do is you put your thumb so that it's on one side of the c stick and so that the top of your thumb is on B. so just learn the timing... press left / right with c stick then press the opposite direct with control stick + B. once you learn this it's really easy to do it like 20 times in a row.

oh yea, for practice, learn this with falco. maybe do it on hyrule for practice. falco apparently drops faster or has a smaller sweetspot range, but all i know is that he tends to drop more ><. if i get time i'll maybe post a vid XD.

It's a pointless stall. It's just another useless, but flashy tech skill any flashy fox would want. I don't suggest learning it. It's about as useful as SHDL, except if you fail it, you die.

EDIT: Hylian Lord: Anyone who changes their hand posistions that massivly for a tech skill needs a slap. Firstly, there isn't a single tech skill in this game that requires a controller holding method change. Secondly, if you were to change your hand posistion, that completely removes the appeal of a technical fancy. You fail.

for me, i use both SHL and SHDL in my play, more so the SHDL. and i already know the infinite firefox stall, but i just want to know techniques to doing this so i may find a useful way for it(as i mentioned before)

I can easily do it and my pal Doval.

But the opponent can edgehog you if he WD's back and doesn't get hitten so be careful if you want to try it.

use the C-stick to let go and it's mighty simple to master.

I can also do it with Falco but you have to be even faster.

Go watch my match videos and see where SHDL gets me. WOW. 4% that could've been obtained by SHL! EXCEPT SLOWER! YAYUHHHHZ!

Seriously, anytime SHDL would be useful, SHL would do the same thing, only faster.

when i play against people, 2 X the lasers add damage to tall chars. and it also takes up more space. SHL is way faster, sure it is, but i use both for different purposes. anyway, back to the illusion.

while i was practicing this, i found out that if youre really close to the wall and illusion, youre gonna do a doraki instant walljump.

Well, I'm changing it back to the SHDL. This is, nearly pointless. The damage count goes down, until one point, it does 3%, where obviously, doing a shdl is faster, easier, and safer. So this one, I agree with Eggz. He's a pretty good player, and he does know what he's talking about.

The stall is pretty fast, but I myself prefer shine-firefox, just because it doesn't leave you as open.

btw, although it may be a flashy tech, i'd think the negative outweighs the positive. it's a bit faster than up+b stalling, yet, obviously, if you mess up, you die. and you will eventually mess up, perhaps at a pretty bad time.

Cheap method - switch up your grip and have one hand on the a-stick, and the other not holding the controller, with your index on the c-stick and your middle on the b button. Tap away on the c-stick and jam towards on the a-stick, and mash B as fast as you can.

I've never seen a ledgewalljump happen while doing it (except when you do a ledgewalljump the normal way, but with doing an illusion just before grabbing the ledge after the doublejump)

EDIT: oh and the SHDL is better IMO. its a defensive tactic, who cares if you miss one, imagine if you hit both of them. 2x the damage. plus, you can use it as a mind game. everyone knows that im gonna keep spamming SHDL, until i pull out one SHL and ur like, whoa, i just got tricked.

Teddy, I literally rofl'd at nothing but the fact that you posted her. I thought you only checked regionals or something. Anyways, like Bladewise said, mess up=dead=bad, and since messing up is easy with this tech, it's pretty pointless to try too much in a real match.

There are alot of useless moves in this game. You need to get with the program and realize that. Countless moves should never be used in an actual match. IE: Bowser's dair, Mario's dtilt, Fox's fair, falco's fair. Just a few examples.

His Fox isn't too great imo. Nothing compared to Javi or Cunning Kitsune. Actually, Javi's like the best. Just needs a little more defensive tactics such as shdl/shl, since he can do it pretty well.

Also, SuperCussion is pretty good himself. Saw his old videos, and it's not half bad. Never challenged him in his peak of goodness(or so I hear) yet though. I shall defeat you Andrew!
