Can Amiibo change the metagame

I could see a dedicated amiibo tourney scene, but it, by its very nature, would have to be separate from the main scene. I think the two could coexist, but it will never be more than a side even to the main tournament play.

amiibos should never compete against live players either, so to answer your question in the subject: no, they cant change the meta.
