Can all of a character's costumes have the same STOCK image?

I'm been trying to run Project M with customized portraits but it seems whenever i go to the character select screen, it crashes. Why is it when Wii games crash they almost cause deaf? but that's beside the point, i want to know what my problem is. Images will be presented if asked. ANSWER ASAP!

so should i minimize the size of the image to put less constrain on the file limit?

That is correct. I suggest using ONDO's compressed CSP method to reduce file size.

CSPs have to be 128x160, or else they will likely crash.

I've seen a 3,883 kilobyte file crash, and 3,881 kilobyte file succeed, so it's around there somewhere.
