Calling all BG smashers

So I realize there is a NWOH Facebook group that is pretty active and regular smashfests in the union, but I think we should band together to create a larger smash scene on campus. Maybe even get a club going like UT.

I'm a major noob, but I am hungry to get some experience. Plus, I'm hella interested in being a tourney organizer.

I actually have a tiny tournament/party in the works to test out organizing tourneys. The date is tbd currently and entry fee for singles is $1. I'll also have doubles if enough people want it.

This will be held in my apartment, so the tourney's cap will be 20. Also, since it's a party too byob/c. I have 2 crts and a flat screen. If anyone can bring over some GameCubes or another crt it'd help out.

Is this just limited to Melee? Or is Smash 4 being played as well?

It's just melee. However, if someone would like to bring Smash 4 to play around on afterward that'd be fun.
I just don't have money for a Wii U/Smash 4.

I've decided I'm going to have it on the 12th. So not this coming Saturday, but the one after. I am hoping to meet the cap I've set of 20 people. I've got 8 confirmed right now.

Cool beans. It's going to be 1:00PM. It's at my place and will turn into a party after the tourney. We're at 802 6th St. Apt 9. If you got a gamecube feel free to bring it so we can play matches faster.

I have two and a flat screen, but more crts always help. Keep in mind I've never been in a tournament or organized one before. I'd love some feedback. I'm excited for everything though.
