Hello i have a quick question for you all

i thought of disabling my tap jump in project m and learning to play like that so i was thinking it would hinder my play style a lot cause i use the c stick a lot so i wanted to know how you guys play, do you use the face buttons more or just stick to using C-stick

bit new to the competitive play please don't hate me for asking T_T

I use the c-stick for all my non-charged smash attacks and almost always for my non-nair aerials. Most pro players will tell you the c-stick is amazing.

Tap jump on or off is sorta personal preference. Some people like it, some don't. Personally I keep it on because I use it a lot, especially with rising Meta Knight up-airs.

Ya i prefer the c stick a lot because of the fact of i play a lot faster with it, i could get use to the face buttons but i know that most of the time i will be trying to jump with the joystick and messing up because of it but i could get the hang of it, i heard that disabling makes it easier to hit up tilts so that's why i thought to change it.

Having tap jump on makes your world a lot easier to live in when you're used to it. Easy upB OoS and jc Usmashes(mostly Ike out of sideB) in general.

Tap jump for OoS and JC tech, and C-Stick for tighter aerial control. Pretty much everything everybody else has said.

i keep tap jump off and use c-stick for all my aerials and most all my smashes. c-stick + Z to charge them. anything i need to jump cancel i claw for. especially if i'm about to get hit, it's really easy for me to eat my second jump if i try to DI a hit slightly too early or something

I came from Brawl and always had Tap Jump off, I learned over time that having Tap Jump on will be more beneficial in the long run (my character kinda requires it, haha) So, while I'd say there's FEW situations where Tap Jump improves things otherwise that are hard/outright impossible to do, the game is more than playable with Tap Jump off.

I use the C-Stick for aerials 99% of the time (Not counting N-air) and pretty much for all smashes as well (It's required for DACUS, after all)

I never use the C-stick. My GC controller and Xbox controller both seem to have really unresponsive right sticks, so it's hard to do attacks.
