Hey guys I plan on buying an ASUS PB287Q 4k Monitor mainly for my Macbook Pro (with Retina Display) but I will also be playing Smash with it because why not? I wanted to know if the Wii u will have any input lag on this monitor due to the fact that unlike my Macbook the Wii U can only support 1080p and it will be displaying from a 4K monitor.

I don't think so. The Wii U is an HD system. There shouldn't be input lag.
Welcome to the boards by the way.

I doubt it very much. Hardware is rarely unable to "keep up" with titles like this

I don't think there would be input lag while playing. It'll do just fine. :p
Like @ Soul. Soul. said, it's an HD system, so it's doubtful.

What is the ms latency of it? And the monitor may support 4k, but the Wii U doesn't. So it will still display in 1080p.

The ms latency is 1 ms but I hears 4k monitors upscale the 1080 resolution to 4k
Upscaling is different. The Wii U locks Smash Bros. to 1080p. 1080p resolution will certainly not be as crisp on a 4k monitor as a full HD monitor of the same size. All upscaling does is make the (considerably) lower resolution fill your entire screen, which is also somewhat related to why your 1080p picture will not be as clear.

yup that is what I meant wouldn't filling up the 1080 to the 4K screen cause the input lag some people say yes, i went on here because i think for this fourm you guys will be more knowledgable about this.

It will not cause additional lag. The two are not related. To my understanding, the polling rate for your controls will be quite a bit higher than 1 ms. Worrying about input lag from decent LCD monitors is pretty ridiculous.
