Smash Ace
Bub & Bob
Intro
Bub and Bob are twin bubble dragons from a series of arcade style games called Bubble Bobble. They debut in 1986 in the arcades, later getting ported to PC systems and consoles. Which include the NES. They have also appeared in a spinoff called Puzzle Bobble Bust-a-Move which was a match 3 Puzzler. The series was developed and published by Taito now owned by Square Enix.
History
Bubble Bobble is a long running series with a hand full of games appearing on Nintendo consoles some of which were exclusively on Nintendo hardware. with the most "recent" entry on the NES classic.
Uniqueness
Bub and Bob are both bubble dragons, in their game they blew bubble to capture enemies and pop them to clear stages. some bubbles would have different types of elements in them. When popped they would have different effects such as the water bubble washing away anything that was in it's path, or the fire bubble setting the ground on fire. later games added different variety to their bubbles such as a bubble dash and a charge shot.
Hurtles
With Bubble Bobble being a 3rd party chances are low. They have not had any recent major appearances out side of cameos. Their saving grace is if they would be considered to be a Retro rep. but they also are competing against other much bigger Square Enix reps as well.

Implementation
If they were to implement Bub and Bob they would come with one of their classic stages from the old arcade with transitions.
On to how they would fight, they would work like the ice climbers as a team and be more of a keep away character setting up traps with their bubbles. They would be as light or lighter than the ice climbers. They would have great recovery but lack any kill moves and be mostly projectile based. Or if you wana go crazy and make them an Echo of the ice climbers giving them claw swipe attacks instead of the hammer attacks. Tweak the specials giving them their bubble blowing and bubble recovery. The Final smash can be a call back to the spinoff can be a call back to Bust a Move with them shooting a bubble ballistic crossbow at enemies.
