Would you like to see tripping added as a command combination?

Please put down your pitchforks, it's not what you think :p

An idea occurred to me after messing around with Lucas; why not add an option to trip on command? Ideally it wouldn't affect game play, it's only purpose would be to entertain. I imagine it would be used as a 4th taunt or just for laughs. As for how it would be triggered, I'm not sure what button combination would work best. It would definitely have to be something that won't be triggered accidentally (else rage). I guess that's up for discussion.
So again, it would be useless for anything besides laughs. I'd like to know what everyone thinks about this, would you like to see this added in a future release?

EDIT: Tough crowd. Seems the consensus is no.

Tripping on command like footstool? ... I don't really see getting much of an advantage by tripping on purpose. If they did give it advantages though, people would just be tripping all over the place because there'd be little reason not to do it. Maybe I'm just thinking ahead of myself here.

He said it was for comedic purposes.

That could easily be changed. Like I stated earlier it could function like Lucas' up taunt, tripping with no advantage given.

y'know, I kind of thought it was cool in brawl how some moves, like DK's dtilt, had a chance to trip your opponent at low percentages. it might be a good way to give some characters a good ground option for extra damage without unbalancing them.

Not super interested in that.

I am intrigued in general by the notion of attacks that trip, sort of like sweeps in regular fighting games. Now that tripping is techable, it would be interesting to see how the meta evolves to accommodate it.

You could set it as a taunt button. if someone taunt trips then you could walk up to them and press "A" or whatever button and it would tie their toes together. Then the character with their toes tied could only jump around, they couldn't walk or run. That would be neat-o.

Lol dude xD

Well the idea seems to be unpopular, that's cool. I guess Brawl tripping is still a painful memory for some.

I'm talking as an individual here, but while this is possible to code, I kind of feel the time taken to add this feature would be better invested in other areas. It's an idea with some merit as an easter egg, but in terms of priorities, there's just so much to do.

I could see them making Lucas' taunt into an actual trip, just as a little easter egg of sorts. I wouldn't care to have everyone tripping around though, even just as a joke.

Could be a Special Brawl option called Stupid Brawl. Then you play with random tripping such as Standard Brawl

LOL

Like your idea but instead of just playing the PM engine with tripping, When you press Stupid Brawl the game boots up Brawl.

HAHA, it'd be great if you could increase the chance to trip, too. Kind of like how you can push the %knockback from 50% to 300%, you could switch the chance to trip from 1% to 99%.
