Brawl's Music

I know this has probably been posted a million times, but I'm wondering how much of Brawl is actually going to be orchestrated and how much of it will be synth?
So far I've only heard two orchestrations from the entire game (the first and second trailer themes) compared to every stage's synth themes, which admittedly don't sound very good compared to the stage music in Melee.
I recall Sakurai stating that a majority of Brawl's music would have live orchestra and use the same vocal-chanting that was used in the game's first trailer, but it seems Sakurai did not stick with it. I personally thought it'd be an amazing change.
I'm hoping that the amount of effort going into the current music does not parallel with the amount of effort going into the game itself (as I'm sure it won't). I was really hyped over this game's sound track by it's initial impression :(
Retro Studios, however, seems to have fitted Prime 3 with full orchestration and full voice acting, with arguably less funding than Brawl. I'm wondering what's holding Brawl back here.

Well the music so far sounds pretty good to me.

Its living up to my expectations, of course me and you have different expectations. The music is probably being released in a way to play with our minds -.-

Give us a lil taste and pwn us hardcore once we get the game. I love getting into my own nirvana with the music and not even notice anything around me, just purely into the game and the match.

Yeah.. we need more orchestrated music. The music so far hasn't been very impressive to me... We need more songs like the Fountain of Dreams song!

I've also found that most of the music hasn't appealed to me much like the past games' themes did. Melee had an AWESOME soundtrack, I can only hope that Brawl keeps the tradition.

It's not so much the songs themselves that are bothering me, it's the quality of sound going into them. I don't expect every song to be orchestrated, but they could at least use some more complicated digital noise than simply relying on stock synth sounds that have already been in billions of other games. People like BT show that digital music can definitely go way beyond where it's been for the last few years - It'd just be nice to see more musicians take some incentive.

I think brawl needs some more guitar oriented accompaniment, whether it be classical guitar leads, or harmonized metal guitar leads. How awesome would it be to hear some crazy virtuoso style music thats incorporated into the already awesome themes of the characters we know and love?

Eh... I don't really like the guitar, but that's my opinion. XD

I just love the full orchestra pieces like Rainbow Cruise, Fountain of Dreams, and Green Greens.

If there's any guitar it has to be classical guitar. :p

Well, I still love midi songs from old games so.. I guess I don't really look and care for that stuff. I love music :/

But I guess hearing old midi tyep songs while playing a cool 3d game or something would feel a bit off... Wouldn't want to try it anytime soon.

If it doesn't distract the smashing and is at least as good as melee's (which may be asking for too much already), then I'm happy... basically music that's good enough to not go "wtf is this ****" during a match and to actually notice and probably want it back on when it's been turned off.

I'm hoping that they are unfinished samples and the final products will sound close to Melee's pseudo-orchestrated quality.

It'd be awesome to hear the zelda medley in guitar, though it sounds the best out of all the stage themes atm imo.
It's hard to go wrong with ocarina's soundtrack.

I agree. I loved the metal guitar solos in Big Blue and Mute City. They were skillfully done; Dragonforce would be proud lol.

I couldn't agree more... all I can think of at the end of Pit's "Underworld" theme is SNES-generation-SFX... specifically, Mario Paint. Without proper orchestration, the ending is just... unnecessary.

I'm thinking they're giving us MIDI versions now, orchestral versions later. Take the OoT medley- it would be an INCREDIBLE mistake to leave that synthed. So I'm thinking it'll be done right when the game comes out; there's no excuse for that poor sound quality.

Man, people worry too much these days. I'm such the Brawl music is going to be varied just like it was in Melee. Besides, with all those musicians on that list, the only way it could is if Sakurai told them to play the same type of music over again, which he wouldn't considering how he is. Oh, and the music is great so far and the game hasn't ever came out yet.

I wouldn't doubt the songs being midi after twilight princess :( And pit's theme had me crying in anger. Starfox Armada sounds like it was ripped straight out of rpg maker xp.

ah, if only brawl had some tracks from uematsu or the black mages /sigh up with FF toons and music 4 brawl
The main theme for brawl (from the first trailer) was done by Uematsu.
