February 28th, Friendly Fire will be hosting its first Brawl tournament. There will be a singles tournament first (3 stock, items turned off) followed by a break for food (Mr. Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious) and then a doubles tournament. Both will use standard MLG rules, and if you don't already know what those are you probably don't care anyway. Double elimination, best of 3 matches, semifinals and finals best of 5.
This will be a CASUAL tournament. The TVs are Plasma (NOT CRT).
It should be fun and there will be a lot of new faces there.
Prizes:
1st - Cash + stuff
2nd - free stuff
3rd - other free stuff
(Stuff includes Free hours and day passes)
Entry fee is $10 per person per tournament, and will cover your cost to play Smash for the entire day at Friendly Fire. Registration begins when the store opens and continues until 2:45 PM, when we will promptly begin the tournament after setting up brackets.
There are drinks and candy available in the store as well as a supermarket and a restaurant directly to the left and right.
Rules:
Set format (In Order of Procedure):
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Neutral Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match if desired

Counterpick stages will be:
