Hey, I was wondering. Brawl is supposed to be released on Feb. 10th in the USA. But, Feb. 10th is a sunday... Will the game still arrive in game stores that day, or will we have to wait till monday to get our hands on it?

I checked to see if there's a topic on this, and couldn't find one. Anyway, could someone explain?

The stores will receive the game the previous week with instructions not to sell it. Gamestops will be receiving them anywhere from Feb 4-8.

Okay, that's weird cause when I preordered mario strikers charged, I went in to get it on the release date, and they said that they would receive it one day after the release date... Well, I guess I'll just call to make sure before I go in this time. Well, thanks for the info :)

That's because Strikers was a release date game, not a street date game like Brawl. Release date games are shipped the day of the release, street date games are about a week before their release. Stores can't sell them or they'll get fined.

How many reserves a game gets determines whether the shipment comes on the day of release and is sold the next day, or if it's shipped in advance so the game can be released. Games like Mass Effect and Mario Galaxy were received weeks in advance and were just stored until launch. Other games, like Mario Strikers, were shipped on the day of released and thus weren't sold 'till the next day. So a game like Brawl should be received in advance since it should have received a lot of reserves.
