Yea anyways Brawl will be not be shown in TGS at all. Not even a trailer I think...What are your thoughts about this? I mean this is Nintendo to take and there taking a cake walk off of E3 where again Brawl was not playable. .-. Why..I'm not sure but Nintendo needs to get act together make something happen..I call this BS. I've been waiting for Brawl and yet not even a playable demo has been shown at all.

TGS 2007 details released
Exhibitor list goes online, Nintendo not listed despite rumours it would attend this year; company keeping its plans close to its chest.

The Tokyo Game Show 2007 is shaping up--and the event looks set to be the biggest ever. The TGS Web site has just been updated to include a list of exhibitors that will have booths at this year's event--so far, it totals 168 companies taking up 1,708 booth units. Last year's show, by comparison, had 148 exhibitors occupying 1,701 booth units.

The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association, which organises the event, commented that it attributed the supersizing of this year's event to the fact that "this year marks the full-scale introduction of software titles for the new game platforms released over the past one to two years."

The theme of this year's TGS is "Link up, Reach out, To the World." The event always has a loose "theme;" last year's was "New Excitement. New Sensations. A New Generation," and 2005's was "Your Front Row Ticket to the Next Generation of Gaming."

Some of the exhibitors confirmed for this year include Capcom, Koei, Konami, Microsoft, Namco Bandai, Sega, Sony, and Square Enix.

There will also be a number of themed pavilions, including an Australia Pavilion, a Canada Pavilion, a Taiwan Pavilion, and a Thailand Pavilion--each highlighting games from their respective countries. Alongside these will be other specialised areas, including a mobile contents section and a children's games section.

This year's TGS will run for two days for business and the industry, September 20 and 21, and will be open to the public on September 22 and 23. As part of this, last year's Developer Tools and Middleware Corner will be renamed the Business Solutions Corner, and this year will have 29 exhibitors compared to 12 last year. 180,000 people are expected to attend from across the world.

Sony Computer Entertainment president Kazuo Hirai will deliver the keynote address on September 20, titled "A Look at Our Business Strategy Toward New Growth: The Expanding PlayStation World." Other sessions will focus on online games, characters, mobile phone games, finance, and marketing.

Nintendo was notably absent from the exhibitor list, although a spokesperson for the company told GameSpot that its absence from the initial lineup did not necessarily mean it would not be present. They said, "We've not announced our plans yet for TGS 2007. Although it is worth nothing that we haven't taken part in many TGS events over the last few years--so were we not to be present it would not be unusual.

If this is the case, it'll be quite disappointing. A playable demo of it would be nice to get the fans hyped up. To some people, it'll be a tease to them.

Despite rumors that Nintendo would make themselves present for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, the harsh reality is that the company is not going to have a presence there. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that we won't get our fill of Wii-related goodies from the show, just none of said goodies will be official Nintendo treats. Sadly, that's the thing most of us want, as we'd love to see updated looks at Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy.
Found it sorry..I have to post it. Won't fit in first post. >>;

I think what it mainly means is that the biggest public announcement that has been made from now until SSBB's release is infact the Release Date.

I don't think there will be any more large 3rd party characters (Sonic, MegaMan, etc...) now, because the announcement would be made at a huge event (such as E3 and TGS) to generate a heck of a lot of hype and publicity for the game. Just knowing that Nintendo won't show up, leads me to believe that Sakurai isn't hiding any more gigantic surprises up his sleeves. Not to mention that there are no other 3rd party credits at the bottom of the smashbros.com website apart from Konami.

I honestly can't live through the Smash information drought. Ike's release did show something, but still waiting till 3 in the morning for an update is absurd when we can get something good out of TGS. Something would be nice though. I know something about 3rd party characters was talked about through the forums and how we would possibly get a Sonic, Megaman, or some 3rd party character introduction. Nothing at all though......... I can't do that. Sakurai has to have bigger news than what we've seen already, TGS is just the best time and place right about now to keep Smash fans on their toes till December, unless the updates plan on just getting bigger.

Who actually thought that Nintendo was going to be at TGS this year?

They might go off and do their own show, but more likely they'll just wait till E4 All in October. I'd bet a lot of money that they'll have a demo then, along with more information.

Nintendo usually steers clear of this event, except for one time when they gave a small presentation. In fact, this whole event was created so that other developers besides Nintendo could showcase things back in the 90s. I don't think they'll show up this year.

However, this event is sandwiched by Leizpig and E for All, so we won't miss much.
