I've seen many discussions on this board, but I havn't seen any about the items in the next game! This thread is dedicated to item creations. So far there are only two items we know will be in Brawl: A)The Smash Emblem which gives your character an incredible move and maybe will do more. B) An unknown item that will call a Nintendog to block the screen. This lack of information and ambiguity isn't close to enough to satisfy me. What I need is some false hopes! :) What items do you think should return? What items would you like to see in Brawl and what would they do? Let's get some creativity here!

Let's put them in this format:

Name of item (Game of origin): Description

-Examples-
Balloon (Balloon Fight): Gives any character 5 jumps. The jumps won't be high, but there will be 5 of them! I'm not sure what it would do for characters that already have 5 jumps...

Bullet Bill Cannon (Super Mario Bros.): An item that shoots out Bullet Bills. Works the same way that Samus's fB does.

Bombchu (Legend of Zelda): Similar to a Bob-omb, but it won't start on its own, and will crawl around sticking to any surface (walls, ceilings) until it explodes or someone touches it.

Energy Pendant / Dragon Sheild (Fire Emblem): Absorbed items like Bunny Hood, Cloaking Device, or Metal Box. The Energy Pendant gives you extra strength (more % with attacks) and the Dragon Sheild will give you hightened defense (less % recieved from attacks). Gives your character a red hue for Energy Pendant and a blue hue for Dragon Sheild.

Master Ball (Pokemon): A throw item that works like Yoshi's B. Traps enemy within it for a set period of time. Cannot be thrown once an enemy is captured, but can be attacked to give damage.

I'm looking forward to see what people can come up with.

I really haven't thought about this through but i would like to see an item that once thrown it will release one creature attacking its surroundings! Like SSBM with Octorocs,Goompas,Redead etc etc. Another crazy idea would be Luigi's vacuum cleaner to suck an enemy and throw him wherever you want applying to him minimal damage(Like Kirby's suction). Also I remember in N64 Smash we had the bumper, then in melee we had that thing that stays in the air and spins and gives a very small damage having the similar bouncing force with the bumper...Well now it will be a good idea to have a banana from Mario Kart to slip on! And even better to have the Special banana from double dash to divide into 3 lesser ones to pick up and throw!!

Britain, glaring at you **** yanks.
Make specifics for this topic or it will all get a bit crowded

Try using these guidelines

Name of item
Game / series of origination
Type of item (throwing like the bomb, melee like the Home run bat, carrier like the capsule, et cetera)
Visual description , if it is not already obvious
What the item does

Example:

Pirahna Pipes

Mario series

Throwing item, with after effects.

It looks like a green pipe end.

Basically you throw this, and it will stick to whatever it hits. Pirahna plants will pop out of this pipe continually with about 2-5 second intervals. Could be used to trap people. Not one to catch people out with, but if you throw or hit somebody into a plant, it could do some damage, as if you stay on the pipe, for instance, if you've been knocked out, the Pirahna plant will keep coming out and dealing damge. 15% per hit. The pipes are also platforms, so you can jump on them and throw them at walls to create an extra platform. The pipes dissappear after about a minute or two.

Try using that format to make things a lot cleaner to read.

Wario Bucket.

Toss it at anyone, and reverse their walking controls (like in some games, you press right, you go left).

Maybe the Landmaster from Star Fox series! It could serve as a replacement for the hammer from Mario series! You get in and you go on a frenzy shooting stuff everywhere either you want it or not! Also deku/goron/zora mask from Zelda:Majoras Mask. You transform to one of the races and your character is cutely transformed like Link was having new abilities for like 30-60 seconds.

Wow, that would be cool. Would they look like a regular Deku, Goron, and Zora or would they be whatever-character-puts-the-mask-on versions of them? Because that would make things really funny.
I did get a bit of a giggle envisioning Deku Snake.

Even so, the idea of an item changing someone's moveset seems a bit too complicated. I don't think it would work, even with its hillarious possibilities.

@TriforceJ:
I'm just curious, who owns Goemon? I loved Goemon's Great Adventure (which I played at my cousin's for some strange reason, thought it would be stupid but fell in love with it and borrowed it from him for like 5years) and I think he'd be interesting to have in Brawl. But if he's 3rd party then I can do without him, there are better 3rd party characters out there than him.

I would make an item that would delete all the other items from the game and just make it a itemless game.

When I'm bored I do stuff like play with 8 ICs and turn on only freezies at very high. I also do the same thing with ICs and Pokeballs, bomb-ombs, and motion sensors. It's fun for when you have to play with scrub friends that just can't get good.

I really don't play with items that much other than 4 person FFA. But hey, that add awsome elements to the game, as well as cool randomness. Lol, anyone who is against items I have a suggestion: Turn the item option off and shut up, and have fun. I don't play with items much, but still they add some cool new elements to the series.

Most everyone whop plays the game enjoys them (unless they get hit by a random explosive capsules), and makes the game real fun when you're bored. Now for my item ideas, or rather returning

Add: the bumper (from ssb 64, that owned!)
Keep: every item (flipper too, and return all Pokemon from the first two)

Zombie Mushroom (SPM): I dunno, there's just something appealing about a mushroom running around and eating people...

Ice Beam (Metroid): 3 rounds, replaces Freezie.

Star Candy (Kirby): Consumable. Decreases damage recieved. Minimum damage recieved is 1%.

Rock Candy (Mother): Consumable. Increases damage dealt.

Hungry HP Sucker (Mother): 5 rounds. Successful hits regenerate health.

Hurly Gloves (SMRPG): Temporarily increases throwing distance.

What i think would be very interesting is if the characters that had weapons (marth's sword, fox's blaster ect.) could be dropped (say if he were hit really hard) or stolen (say another item or new ability) and then picked up and used by other characters as an item, that in my opinion would bring a new level of insanity to the already very strange realm of Smash.
