When it comes to parties. Hurr hurr, you guys thought this would be a Melee > Brawl topic didn't you. No, this applies to Melee too anyway.

Right then, this is the setting for my words today. Friday was my friend Brittany's birthday party. She drew my avatar. All my avatars in fact. So it was a whole bunch of people in her basement being all cool and eating pizza and playing silly party games. That is of course until one of the guests decided to be cool and break out the Brawl. Now Brawl at a party of GAMERS is not a problem at all. Brawl in a party of 1 hardcore gamer, 4 casual gamers and 9 people who don't play video games is kind of a problem. Because we'll be like "Oh hay guys, let's play Never Have I Ever or something" and they'll be like "HEY SHUT UP WE'RE PLAYING BRAWL." Mmm. Yeah. It's not enjoyed. Even more annoying was the fact that at some point it pissed me off to the point where I turned off the Wii and they got really mad and really pissy about it and it's just like "Well you can go home then, why the hell did you come to a party to play Brawl with 3 people the entire night."

I had this written out before but I did it on my Wii and it refused to post so I lost that version, which was faarrrr better than this one, so I made a youtube video to go with it.

It's vulgar and I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to link to it but oh well.

Click that god **** sentence.

1). Sorry, I had the hardest time understanding that video. Not to sound brash, but here's some critiquing: Try speaking louder and clearer to the camera and stay on subject a bit more.

2). I think I understand why that party was failed, there was no Melee. Every girl wants a genuine Captain Falcon at their party amirite?

What you do when you reply to a topic is you;

A) Agree and provide arguments
B) Disagree and provide arguements
C) Embrace both sides with reasonable facts

These generally work with any topic.

It's not too hard to pick a side.

And the 'question' in this one, if my 3AM typing is making more sense to me than to normal people, is "Do you think it's a problem that people drag Brawl to any party that has a Wii somewhere in it's vicinity like it's a game EVERYONE is going to leap on and love?"

Try not to read this post like I'm trying to be a jerk. I'm not.

Ahaha. I don't annunciate my words well and staying on topic has never been a strong point for me. 'Sides that was uploaded with the youtube Quick Capture because I wasn't in the mood to cut out pieces and up the volume. I hadn't really planned on linking this video here when I uploaded it anyway.

You're couldn't be any more right with point number two though.

Shutting off a system while someone is playing is a risky move lol. I shut off a kids xbox while he was playing guitar hero and he threatened my life. Anyways, I do agree that while your at someone's house, you shouldn't really alienate yourself from the party and just play games with a select few people the whole time, but they were all probably playing because deep down inside they were thinking people would be impressed with their skills.

I know that, I just don't have an opinion at all. Lol. I think you are both right and wrong in your own ways.

I dunno, unless you go to a party with the majority of people who are gamers, it won't have too much success to bring out a game.

It's like coming to an Italian restaurant for a sub sandwich.

I lol'd.

Anyway, I agree.

I remember the time when I was at a LAN party, and everyone played WoW because there was internet access, instead of playing, like... GAMES WITH THE PEOPLE THERE.
I only got one dude I played a few games of Quake 3, UT and Age of Empires 2 with, lol. That was so horrible, we had to play with bots/CPUs and ****.

Smash at a party of more than 4 people of which one or more are not interested into it is bad bad baaaaaad~

I mean, not that I could play Smash all day/night anyway, considering my fingerjoints hurting after like 2 hours, but overall I would spend some other time but playing Smash (or any other game) with others when having them around. ;O

so like, when i first saw this, i was thinking, "lolitems."

and then i realized that the wii was the item.

but i do have to agree with you for the most part. Video games can work at social parties as long as they dont become the central focus (they usually dont where i'm from, but meh), but yeah, i guess in your case... when there is a party, and there are girls, no games allowed.

Seriously, priorities are so lol sometimes.

Ok, I'm sure you'd probaly know that it wouldn't bode well. The hardcore gamer would have NO luck at this party. Also, at first I would think why would their be a party with gamers and NON gamers? Anyways, 4 casual gamers, not bad. I wouldn't expect too much, I'd expect NOT SO GOOD NESS, lol. I play with casual gamers, as well, and I'm also into going to tournaments as well. Did EVERYONE stay glued to Brawl? I was thinking they didn't, but if they did, and are non gamers, I'm sure they'd also do something else, right? Just leave a group of people to play brawl, and the other to do whatever you want.

Was the problem mostly the non gamers? Or everyone? I'd say, what can you do? Could you be more specific? I'm trying to understand why this happened. But yeah...

I'd probaly just goof off at such a party and not expect serious matches, of course. No Honor? Play it off with humor and sillyness. Why where they getting upset and saying SHUT UP WE ARE PLAYING BRAWL and who was saying that?
