I seriously think it's about time that fans band together and ask Nintendo to make a disc based expansion pack for Brawl. I say disc based because I doubt dlc is an option.

I'm confident that most fans are more than willing to pay 30-40 dollars for maybe 10 new characters, some new stages, and a few minor tweaks to existing characters. I am also confident that Nintendo would be willing to do something like this if they believed fans would go for it.

Now some of you might be saying this is a waste of time since they're already preparing for the next smash bros on the wii u...wrong! This would be even better for the next game! If they were to go through with an expansion pack for brawl, they could actually finish it relatively fast compared to a whole new game (this is because they won't have to start from scratch).

Now as for how that would better for the actual sequel..this is my reasoning. Nintendo knows that fans are clamoring for more smash bros, and I think most fans are disappointed that Nintendo didn't start production on the game sooner. This could result in Nintendo speeding development up faster than they would like.

However, if they were to go through with a brawl expansion pack, it would ease the fans' hunger for long enough to give Nintendo all the time they need to make the actual sequel the best smash bros it can be (because we know that if they screw it up we'll have wait another 6 years for the next one).

The only thing we have to do is get organized and show our overwhelming support for a brawl expansion pack. If they see that there is enough of a demand, I really believe this could happen. Nintendo can look at super street fighter 4, ultimate mvc3, and blazblue cs extend (which are all basically expansion packs) and see that this is profitable.

The worst-case scenario is that they simply don't do it and we wasted a few minutes of our time emailing and posting on twitter or something..but consider the best-case scenario. Sorry if this was a little long but thanks if you bothered to read it all.

Add-on content wouldn't work with Brawl. It would require major modifications just to WORK with Brawl. You didn't think through things like Wifi and the SSE.

If this were to happen, it would have to cost more than SSBB itself. Since it's disc based, and the Wii reads directly from the disc, it would have to contain everything Brawl already has plus new content. Essentially they would just be re-hashing Brawl with new characters and stages that are probably already coming for SSB4 just so that impatient fans don't have to wait a year or two.
Somehow I can't see that happening.
Also, implying that the community can just force Nintendo to release something new just by "banding together" is ridiculous.

They're making a new game on the Wii U. They aren't going to stop work on that to make an update for a four year old game.
