Brawl Edge Tech (Survived a spike)

Here's a video of a match where I edge teched a spike attack resulting in me surviving. After I awed in surprise, I rushed the match because I wanted it to be less than 3 minutes so I could save the replay.

I'm the Marth. The edge tech is at 1:58

I did this by pressing "R" right when I was touching the ledge after being spiked. I also believe you can also press "L" to tech and maybe "Z" also.

What do you think? I think its very situational in brawl. Its not like you'll always have an edge to tech a spike.

Edge teching is not new. It was in Melee, and a lot easier to do in Melee. Most of the time, you can't get a tech off because you're hit away from the edge, and since there's the whole autosweet spot non-sense, you don't have that many opportunities to pull it off.

Did he say it was new? No. He just said he edge-teched, not that it was new. Now maybe I'll have something for my friends Ganon-Spikes....
