I'm quite surprised that there isn't another thread like this already (at least I don't think there is, I couldn't find one and I checked the Thread Finder topic), but I thought it might be fun to have somewhere to post ideas about bosses.
There's a lot of room for speculation on this considering the only confirmed one so far is Petey Piranha, and there's so much speculation on playable characters that hopefully this can get something a bit fresher going. So if you have any ideas for who bosses might be post them here, along with how they'll act during the fight, links to pages with information about them if you think it's necessary and information about the stage the fight takes place in if it's relevant. For example:
Giovanni
Like the playable Pokemon Trainer, he stands in the background and uses a few different Pokemon which do the actual fighting. Unlike the Pokemon trainer, each of his Pokemon have their own health bars, although they are not as large as an equivalent lone boss. They must be defeated in order to move on to the next one.
The fight takes place in a version of the Pokemon Stadium with walls at the sides, two floating platforms and small spike pits at either end, just next to the walls. If the player stays on either of the platforms the boss will attempt to knock them off. If a player lands in a spike pit they will take damage.
The Pokemon he uses are:
Golem
Large, heavy and slow. Like some heavy playable characters, doesn't always flinch when attacked. Can attack using:
Rollout - Rolls back and forth across the stage like Jigglypuff, only bigger and more damaging, and without stopping when hitting a player. Can be avoided by the player by timing jumps well.
Earthquake - Jumps up and slams into the ground, making the ground ripple. Again, can be avoided by timing jumps.
Self Destruct - Used when health is very low, this KO's Golem. Golem explodes, causing a lot of damage and a potential one-hit KO.
Nidoqueen
Not as slow as Golem, but still heavy and good at taking hits. If a player touches the horn they become poisoned, gradually increasing their percentage for a few seconds. Attacks with:
Horn Attack - Charges the player with its horn, dealing damage and poisoning if it hits.
Toxic - Sprays sludge out from its mouth across the stage. If a player touches the sludge they will be badly poisoned, taking significantly more damage than if they were poisoned in another way. The more time spent touching the sludge, the longer the effect lasts.
Take Down - Used when health is low. Nidoqueen charges back and forth across the stage at high speed. The player must manoeuvre it so that it runs into a wall, stunning it, at which point it can be attacked and take damage.
Persian
Light, agile and fast, not as big as Golem or Nidoqueen. Although it takes hits harder than either of them it is harder to actually hit in the first place, as it is nearly constantly moving.
Attacks with:
Agility - Dashes around the stage at high speed, slamming any player it touches. Ends with a powerful slashing attack that is hard to avoid.
Fury Swipes - Specifically targets a player and slashes at them repeatedly. Although only one player is targeted, the other can also be damaged if they get too close.
Psychic - Used when health is low. Uses ESP to pick up the players and throw them at the walls repeatedly. Ends by dropping them into one of the spike pits.
I doubt most ideas would end up being that long, but that's the basic idea.
