So I've been working for a bit to maximize Link's recovery. At first I was just doing simple bomb jumps when up-b wasn't staled. Assuming bomb isn't staled, the standard bomb jump deals 11% damage to Link. Later I realized I could AGT down-throw the bomb and hit it with an aerial so I wouldn't have to worry about up-b staling. When I first tried this I used bair, which deals 7% damage to Link, but when I started testing dair, I noticed it was doing 14% damage to Link, more than is possible for the bomb to deal to the opponent. So you know, nair deals 9% to Link and up air deals 10%. From this, the best I can assume is the bomb has some kind of counter property, where the strength of the attack that destroys it changes the damage it deals, with flat damage only being dealt when the bomb collides with a hurtbox or the environment (which also varies based on the throw used). I was wondering if anyone on smashboards has more information regarding this and if it changes the knockback or only the damage (I'm used to assuming both, but I can't see the difference in knockback despite being double damage to Link from bair to dair)?

Yeah, I noticed this awhile ago when sifting through Link's options to bomb jump. Weird, but it doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of the character.
