This game is definitely one of the few hardcore 3rd party titles on the Wii (one of the few GOOD ones at least) and I say it is a great game.
It basically resembles a classic shooter, and gameplay accordingly is very basic, but the editor mode is VERY in-depth. You can create your playable ships, custom bullet patterns for yours/your enemy's attacks, custom enemies which can house unique movements, forms uncommon to the shooter realm, and custom vulnerabilities, and your very own levels with background objects you designed. The thing with the editor is it is extremely complex and time consuming. To make great use of the exceptional editor takes quite a bit of effort to utilize to its fullest extent.
The gameplay and visuals are very basic and inviting so it is easy to jump into the game. However, the higher difficulties, let alone the difficulties achieved with your custom levels and the complex editor makes the game difficult for those who put the effort into the game. IMO, it is a suitable game for hardcore gamers.
It is even possible to download custom stages/ships/enemies made by others onto your Wii using the blastworksdepot.com website. And, to seal the deal, the price of the game is only 20 dollars. I recommend any Wii owners here starved of good games to play this game at least (Personally, I'd say play it if you could before buying it; it is definitely worth 20 dollars, but it is a very hit or miss game due to the basic gameplay and the overly complex editor mode).
