So i'm one of those people who stopped playing their little Gamecube for awhile. And I had stopped playing Smash all together. But I came crawling back to it and bought Melee not to long ago. I was never that great at the tourney scene, so I decided to fix it and start by getting a really technical Falco down (He was always my main). So I got the works going on; waveshines, consistent wavedashes, SHFFLs, SHL -> WD, Edge Double Laser, etc... I still need a bit of work on Multi-Shining and Pillaring, but that's not what i'm asking for help on.

I've got a really, really bad habit. I am *Shudders* ROLLING. And away from my opponent at that. Whenever they get close (i'm only really fighting the CPU at this point. Working on executing my techs in a match) I roll away from my opponent. And as lulzy as it is, the CPU is punishing me for it. XD

Now what can I do to replace that habit? I know an OoS Backwards WD is a much better option, so should I practice doing a lot of those? Or do I focus on launching a move when my opponent gets close like Shield Grabbing or Shines?

Any viable suggestion to replace this horrible habit with, i'd appreciate. Thanks in advance! ^.^

Yeah, WD OoS is really good (I don't know why you end up shielding against computers though :p)

Try to avoid shield grabbing because it's not good when you meet tricky ppl or ppl who space well. You can launch a move aswell but it depends on the situation. Sometimes it's better to get into a better possition and sometimes it's better to hit them
Try to replace most rolls with WD but don't stop rolling all together

I shield the computer because I am pretending like the are a challenge. It's best to practice something that I know i'll use (Shielding an approach).

But yeah, ok... I'll start working on replacing it with a wavedash then.

Falco tends to benefit from just spacing things the first time. A lot of characters like Samus or Marth can play footsies OoS, but it's a lot more dangerous with Falco, so you should try to just space with lasers, dash dance, and wavedashes so that you don't get into that position in the first place (but I understand why you would want to practice it, and WDing OoS is probably the best option if you can't grab or shine OoS).

Kk, i'll keep that spacing tip to heart! ^.^ That actually sounds like a good summary of options to use...
