You heard me. The maker of BrawlBox has decided to put everything to a complete halt. Here's proof:
(The quote was made on Brawl Vault, on November 28th.)
At least he brought up a website of the codes for both BrawlBox and Ikarus (PSA Maker) where "the svn" is at in the quote. I know I can't code any of that stuff, but if I did know how to code, I'd continue both of them on my own.
So pretty much for now, BrawlBox will be staying on version 0.71, and Ikarus will stay at its alpha states until someone out their will have the amount of free time to get BrawlBox up. (and maybe Ikarus as well to be fully workable)
Ikarus wasn't a naive idea at all, BlackJax, in fact, it was a very good idea, IMO.
Again, you have my respect BlackJax, and go on ahead and go do whatever that is needed for you to continue and better your life, you have earned it, heavily.

I've got to give props to ya man, though I won't be able to once in my life be able to PSA items, but I respect you BlackJax. Thanks to you, Brawl Hacking and Mario Kart Hacking is very popular now. Everyone will need to retire and continue their own lives sooner or later. Those 4 years did get payed off, it's not a waste, overall.BlackJax96 said:Hey everyone. I thought about this for a long time, and it's probably going to disappoint all of you.
It was a tough decision, and probably a selfish one, too.
I'm going to stop coding Brawlbox and Ikarus completely on December 1st.
I'll upload everything I have to the svn and anybody is free to try to pick it up and continue it.
I'm done with everything related to Super Smash Bros. Like Kryal did, I have to abruptly and completely cut the ties with it and not look back. It's like some weird addiction that needs to be stopped. Starting Ikarus at this point was unfortunately a naive idea, imo.
I originally said I would put off leaving until next year because it was far away. Like it would never come. I like to procrastinate.
Coding Brawlbox was fun when I first started because I was learning C# and coding the model importer, which was really exciting.
But it's not that exciting anymore, and I need to move on now.
I've been bound to programming Brawlbox and now Ikarus for all this time because I didn't want to disappoint anyone and I do enjoy programming. I'm also very comfortable with the BrawlLib's source code now.
But I realized I have to stop being so selfless and I have to leave my comfort zone. I need to do what I want to do, not what everyone wants me to do. So that's why I decided to quit so soon. I want to focus on designing my game now, full-time.
I'm thankful today for the past 4 years of coding and modding around here, and I hope everyone is thankful for what I've done as well.
I'll still be around the forums and I can still answer questions, I guess.
I apologize for making all the promises I won't keep.
