Not sure if this is the right section to post this, if it isn't I'm sorry ; (
Anway I'm flippy, I'm from the magical land of pal. Now pal has some pm problems. cough no pal version cough.
This means that we have to play on more creatively modified wiis. This has like a negative effect for some things. 1 of which this post is about. I have a crt on which I play melee and it does it 100% fine. If I play pm on it I'll pretty much lose every color and I'll be forced to play in black and white. While I know smash is technically pretty retro already I don't feel like black and white is the way to go.

So for the topic at hand. Is there a feature I can use to see if a tv will be color or black and white for pm?

I and all my PAL friend don't have this problem.

it sounds like your tv has issues ...

What do other wii / brawl games look like?

is melee set to 50 or 60hz when you play?

component or composite?

Dunno

Anyway I'm not the only person with this problem. The tv runs melee/brawl before pm started up fine. It just does pm (or if I'd have it the 20xx mod) without color. I made this topic to find out what feature I should look for to ensure it will do said mods in color. Since I'm looking for another tv I want to be able to play pm on it.

It might just be the country the tv is made in or something and that the tv's it doesn't work on are just not imported or something. I'd just like confirmation on this.

your TV doesn't run NTSC in colour I assume , some hella old CRTS aren't capable in displaying NTSC signal correctly.

Some CRT's don't have this problem and some do there's not a fix for this I'm afraid apart from picking up a different CRT

Tend to find a CRT with a video or DVD combi, they're usually newer models and they are able to support NTSC in colour

I am in fact looking for a new crt. That's why I want to know the criteria a tv needs for this not to happen, so I can just use my phone, google the name and see if it's color.
