Hey guys. I registered at this site for pretty much one reason. To promote an idea. Now I've always viewed the Smash Bros. series as a Nintendo fanboy dream. I happen to be one of these 'fanboys'. I've always loved Nintendo...from the first time I popped Battletoads into my NES when I was about 5 or 6 years old...I love all things Nintendo. So of course when Super Smash Bros. came out for the N64 my brother and I were pumped. I mean...lots of Nintendo characters jammed into one game duking it out with their signature moves and mannerisms? Awesome! Since the reception of that game the series has continued to impress. And they've also proven my theory right in my opinion...while Nintendo is definitely trying to attract new gamers right now...they definitely watch out for their longtime fans. I mean look at all the trophies available in previous Smash titles...what long-time Nintendo fan could resist looking at those going "Aw man remember that guy!?" And now they're taking the retro action to a whole new level with assist trophies. I freaked when I found out about the slew of 8-bit Excitebike riders pummelling your opponents...then a few days ago when they posted Little Mac from Mike Tyson's Punch Out as a new assist trophy...I was overjoyed. So...now that I've given a lengthy introduction I'll get to the point (and I hope you're all still reading this). My favorite game of all time was an NES game called Contra. Hopefully you've heard of it...if not, do some research so this post isn't falling on deaf ears. If you do know about Contra you should be on board with my idea which is...TO SEE BILL RIZER FROM CONTRA IN SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL! I mean I know what some of you may be thinking..."I've never even heard of Contra...why would this guy be a good addition?" Well if you haven't heard of Contra honestly you're missing out. I mean it's one of the most respected and well-known run and gun titles to date. Ask NES owners what some of their favorite NES shooters are. Contra is bound to be on the list. And guess what else? There's a Contra 4 in the works right now. It's coming out for Nintendo DS in merely weeks and it's going to be a good 'ol fashioned run and gun with some new twists. It's truly a game for the Contra fans such as myself. If all this persuasion isn't enough to encourage you to help me on my crusade to see Bill Rizer in Brawl maybe this will help...how many of you honestly knew who Pit was before seeing him on the Brawl roster? Maybe you know by now he was from the NES game entitled 'Kid Icarus'. Fun game...and awesome addition to the roster in my opinion. But my point is Bill Rizer is certainly no more obscure a charcter than Pit...and his appearance in the game has been confirmed for months. So come on folks...help me in my mission. Let's spread this around the internet. Get Bill Rizer on Brawl!!! I mean there's sites all over the place with wish lists where fans and game designers are throwing around ideas for who they'd like to see in Brawl. I haven't heard Bill Rizer suggested yet but I'm doing my part so come on and help me. Nintendo is listening. Contra! Contra! Contra!......

That's him. I prefer to remember the 8 and 16-bit versions of him though. My favorite Contra games were Contra (NES), Super C (NES), and Contra III: The Alien Wars (SNES). A lot of the later Contra games were kind of a slap in the face to the originals because...well they sucked. Contra 4 coming out next month for DS looks pretty promising...a return to the old school run and gun genre essentially ignoring every Contra game made aside from the ones I mentioned. Thanks for the support and suggestions. I actually found that there's a thread that a guy started a WHILE ago. So he's awesome cuz he beat me to the punch big time...but that's a good thing...the more the merrier. If you like the idea help me spread it around...and if you haven't played the original Contra for NES...I highly highly recommend you get your hands on it. It's a tried and true classic.
