Hi, I started to host smash tournaments in my area and was wondering on the general opinion, is it better to run weekly tournaments for melee, pm and smash 4 (all on the same day) or is it better to do a bi weekly with fests inbetween?

I currently have my melee tourneys going weekly and my smash 4/pm tournaments going bi weekly to test out the outcomes.

any thoughts are much appreciated, thank you.

I enjoy weeklys better cause it's every week so it's a lot easier for me to go cause i know that if i mess this week i can just go next week. With bi weeklys it's all over the place with me cause I may can't go a week that it's happening but i may be open on the week it's not. But that's just me.

alright, so as a summary, more events = more chances. Gotcha, thanks for the reply.

I'd go for weeklies, more chances to go, etc. Also, much easier to build an audience.

IMO, this depends largely on what other events, if any, are also happening in your area.

In my case, the Atlanta area seems to have more tournaments than it knows what to do with. Our group does biweeklies (with an occasional 3 or sometimes even 4 week break) just because we'd always be splitting our attendance with competing events on the same day if we didn't.
