Smash Journeyman
This thread is for talk about beta content left over in games, your experiences with them, your discoveries, or just beta thing about any games that interest you.
I've always been a huge fan of the Banjo Kazooie games and very interested in the beta behind it. Mainly in relation to something called Stop n Swop.
Wiki
It is one of the biggest mysteries ever to grace the n64, and I'd wager any system in general. I have always been interested in stuff that was left behind in games, what its purposes may have been, and in general I have always been amazed what people have found.
In Banjo Tooie, there was a beta mode found that is called "Bottles Revenge." With this mode, player one plays throughout the game, while player 2 controls nearby enemies and trys to take out Banjo and Kazooie.
Bottles Revenge in action
The mode is so incredibly fun that I can not fathom why it was taken it. I played it with my brother and with a few friends, the whole game through, having an absolute blast with it. We would flip a coin. The winner chooses who they get to be. If player 2 manages to kill Banjo, they would switch. And I have to tell you, I can't recall having more fun in a multiplayer game, nor can I really recall anything like it. Counter-Co-op? It's brilliant.
Anyway, that is one of my many experiences with beta content and why it's so **** awesome. I'll post more if this thread takes off. But I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great multiplayer experience. (It's accessed through a gameshark code)
