Best Way to Rack Up Coins?

I have no idea why, I can't get enough coins, and I'm running out. Is there an easy way to get coins?

You can win gold by playing smash matches, and certain solo game modes. You can also earn gold from your amiibo figures if they've participated in any matches.

All star or Smash tour give out the most coins without having to use coins

Smash Tour is ideal since you can often earn a few thousand coins in a 25-turn session. If you are lucky, you could earn as many as 4 Crazy Orders tickets as well. Customize some fighters for that mode, and if you go far enough, you can easily get tens of thousands of coins there.

Once you have a good number of coins from the above, go online, spectate some matches, and keep track of winners. You will see repeat matches, possibly 3 or 4 times in the same hour. You can easily multiply your gold here if you are observant.

If you're a betting man, spectator mode can rake in thousands of coins very quickly. I believe you can get up to 20K in one three-match chain.

I've earned 100k coins on different occasions with three-match chains. They were very early in the life of the game when everyone was still new, so the vast majority of matches had 10x multipliers. I have not needed to try in a while since earning 2 million gold from all the challenges, so I suspect the ratios are more diverse now. Perhaps I just capitalized at the right time.

Crazy Orders is a good way to get $, as long as you have quite a few tickets - which, I think, are easy to get with Classic/Smash-Tour games and a good eye on the roller for Classic.

Crazy Orders can be a good way to build up your gold supply, but only really if you use a Crazy Orders Pass, AND choose the tickets that reward you with gold.

I've found that the best way is to play Classic on the highest difficultly and selling the resulting equipment.

Just don't sell equipment with special effects, might come in handy some day.

This basically applies to both, though Smash Wii U actually has a challenge that requires you to collect over 300000G.

Smash run for the 3ds gives a good amount of coins. Also regular battling.

I don't own a 3DS, but coins are a necessity on the Wii U due to numerous pay-to-play modes, such as non-2.0 Classic, Master Orders, Crazy Orders, and Trophy Rush. I probably spend more time doing those than I do in the free modes of play. Plus if you're a completionist, you need to acquire enough for a particular challenge. Thankfully the game provides nearly endless play of these modes once you complete all 140 challenges, but I am assuming the OP is still grinding toward that goal.
