what is the best and fastest framewise way to jab-grab? i always do jab-shieldgrab
Jab> Grab/shieldgrab will be the same. Just depends on your timing.

What I mean is if you sheidl grab fast enough, so you don't see a shield come out at all, then it is the same speed as jab grab.

All there is is timing:
Not to early to do second jab, not to late to miss.

It would be easier with the shield as it will halt your action, but you DON'T want to see a shield pop up, as that wastes time (frames).

uh...Q and A thread? anyways, like Fluke said, frame-wise they should be same as long as you don't make the shield show.

Well from frame data: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=187546
Jab:
1st jab total: 16
1st jab hits on frame 2
1st jab shield hit lag: 6
1st jab shield stun: 7
1st jab advantage: -13
2nd jab hits on frame 10 (counting frame 1 as first frame of 1st jab)
Linking to 2nd jab hit box advantage: -7 (opponent has 7 frames between shield stun and 2nd jab hit box)

Standing Grab:
Total: 29 frames
First grabs frame 6
So if you execute it perfectly on a non-shielded character, you have leeway of of approx 7 frames. A glimpse of the shield during a shieldgrab should not be too worrying, at most losing an extra frame or so.

Also: Against a shielded opponent, you have ONE frame leeway. In this case, it would be better to do something else instead or even maybe....(#3 Tech #3 Jab cancel shield pressure http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=209782). You notice the topic poster said he only lost the opponent when he tried to grab, since he only has ONE frame is hit it right)

I sometimes grab too fast and it counts as Falco's second Jab. >_>
So just time it so you DON'T get his second jab.

A good way to practice this is putting a level 8/9 cpu on "RUN" in training mode.

You'll have to try and track the cpu around a bit to get the first jab, but it is a good indicator if it is go got the timing right as the cpu would escape if you didn't.
