I can always get there damage extremely high with yoshi but it seems i get more damage then i should need for a KO. What moves should i do to finish them off i know the smashes are good but they are hard to hit with.

Upair is the most used finisher I use, then foward smash.

Up smash is never fresh for me, hardly ko with that unless I'm revenge killing.

Upair is such a great move, egg throw up, then double jump rising upair surprises opponents badly. The double jump throws them offgaurd. He also falls at a medium rate, if they air dodge you can upair again or fastfall nair. You should get good knockback, then edgegaurd.

Just like Ice Age stated Yoshi's up air is prolly my primary ko move as well and then the forward Smash. The up smash isn't a bad option either. When possible I sometimes try to dash into an up-smash for a KO. Works good in free for alls when not all of the attention is on you like in 1 vs. 1

if you can't seem to find an opening for uair, approach with bair then follow it up with uair/usmash for the kill.
i also find that sometimes jab, jab, fsmash combos for a nice kill.

All of Yoshi's outright-kill moves are as follows, in order of usefulness IMO

U-air (Quick and relatively powerful)

U-smash (Same as U-air but harder to kill with due to tendency to overuse for dmg)

Grounded Yoshi Bomb - Hit on the way up and it can guarantee a hit. Kills at 120% or so. Easy to avoid or counter, though)

N-air (Edgeguard kill move, comes out fast, not terribly strong, though. Hard to kill with it from the stage since most Yoshi players use it a lot for dmg)

F-air (Non-sweetspotted, it has good knockback. Works best when off the stage, relatively hard to kill with on-stage due to possibility of spiking. ground-spiking isn't that great.)

F-smash (strong but slow and easy to avoid/block. Range is nothing to write home about, either.)

Aerial Yoshi Bomb (Relatively weak and easy to avoid)

D-smash (weak but can still kill at HIGH percentages. Quick enough to get a surprise kill but not effective until at least 135% or so)
