Best way to escape from a grab?

I always mash the Y and A button and turn the stick to all directions. Is this the best way to escape from a grab?

I rotate the control stick while mashing buttons like mad when I get grabbed. Not sure if that's actually best though.

I've always wondered about the exact science behind this.

I always mash all buttons and rotate the movement thing.
But sometimes I end up doing an Up-B immediatly after breaking free, which more often than not isn't very helpful.

I'm fairly certain the control stick in full directions is what affects how long you are grabbed.

any input you enter will affect grab duration, however rotating the control stick is the fastest way to enter inputs to escape a grab last I checked.
