Powershield, problem solved...

but really... there is no way to avoid them without constant rolling or dodging (which can be easily punished)... powershielding is probably the best option

reflector works too but again, punishable

Hence why Falco is top tier...along with his FF, shine, and his retardingly long lasting D-air spike...

But really powershielding is the only way to really deflet/avoid his lasers which is ridiculously hard to do.

Um, are you forgetting the full-jump?

Full-jumped (insert aerial)'s **** Falco's approach. Make sure to L-cancel them into shines.

I definitely would not EVER say that it "*****" his approach. EVER.

Falco can hide under platforms to avoid being full hop nair'd. Also good falcos will see you trying to space a full hopped move, and they will simply RSHL so you are out of range. They just retreat laser and you can't do much about it. I always end up on the defensive until I can get them into a grab or move that causes them to fall/tech roll, and then try to keep them from getting the laser advantage back.

The match up sucks IMO for fox.

JFox, what are you smoking? Fox is faster than RSHL. Outspace them.

I like to avoid lasers with plenty of fulljumps and airdodges to the ground. From there you can position a fulljumped nair that will break their approach. You can even land a fulljump into a shine (which they won't see coming because you've been avoiding the lasers). You can then WD out of it into a fulljumped nair.

Falco isn't bad, you just need to be in the right places. Random Fsmash can really ruin this tactic so be wary.

Or you could hold down c and R at the same time. But realy its hard to powershield so use full jump or shine when needed to punish him and make him stop using it.

full hopped shine>shine turnaround>DJ Falling bair (FFed and l-canceled perhaps into shine)? I've tried this before, but i'm kinda a n00b in the fox/falco matchup. I really need more practice against fox/ falco.

Of course it sucks for Fox. It's Falco.

And instigating a retreat is a great thing for a Fox to do to a Falco, unless you like being shine combo'd to ****.

Running Powershield into grab will make them **** their pants.

Go to FD against a level 9 falco, they'll start sniping you down with lasers. Thats how you can practice that.

Be careful if you are concentrating to much on power sheilding the falco will grab you. Also, while trying to powershield you should be wavedashing forwards out of your shield to close the distance.

By the time Falco shff's a laser you can wavedash out of your shield and bring it up again easily. I do it all the time with Samus and fox...

waveshielding is definitely one of the safest approaches against falco for most characters. Honestly Fox has so much mobility on platformed stages that I spend most of my time dancing around looking for an opening. A lot of the time though I just use marth or falco ditto.

You pretty much HAVE to waveshield without a platform >_>. I use Samus vs falco usually because my samus does much better against falco then fox even though the fox-falco match up is better for fox then samus...I just hate how falco can interupt my mobility which I really play off of with fox where as samus I can space myself better with her ftilt.

Yeah I hear that, good thing I'm a falco main though lol. Samus isn't a bad choice, up b out of shield ftw, though falcos can always camp lasers like mad.
