Non-bias opinions.

Mario.

Why? Mario has the Drill ability with his Dair allowing him to somewhat spike people, along with a down B spike and down B spike throwing downward at end of his bottom hitbox.

Along with the fact Mario has a very good recovery, Good fast fall time not too slow not too fast, He's middle weight so not too light, but not too heavy to be combo'd easily.

He ALSO has Fireballs, which are a ranged projectiles that you can easily spam across the map by doing Bs in the air instead of doing B on the ground because it takes more frames.

Mario has a good/crazy up smash hitbox and has controllerable Fsmash to upward, and downard and middle fsmash. Along with his Down Smash which hits from front then back so if they roll, you could possibly rely on that.

Mario is the best overall character but when it comes to competitive standards, he seems pretty well fit. I personally feel comfortable using him against any other character including pikachu.

Congratulations. You've pointed out good aspects of mario's play. This proves absolutely nothing.

Best character: Samus

Why? Samus has a Dair allowing her to spike people, a very good recovery, she's floaty enough that she can't be combo'd easily but heavy enough that she's hard to kill.

She ALSO has the charge shot, which is a ranged projectile that you can hit shields with and follow up with a grab.

Samus has a good up smash hitbox that can break shield and do 50 damage and has controllerable Fsmash to upward, and downard and middle fsmash. Along with her Down Smash which hits from front then back so if they roll, you could possibly rely on that.

Samus is the best overall character but when it comes to competitive standards, she seems pretty well fit. I personally feel comfortable using her against any other character including pikachu.

tl;dr you're a scrub and you should stop acting as if your scrub opinions somehow have more weight than the product of months of consideration by people who are actually good at this game.

The only person on these boards who'll agree with you is Star King :troll:

If you're talking about overall as far as well rounded in his abilities yes I'd agree Mario fits that perfect. As far as the best character, unless you've played a good pika you probably wont see why hes the best character. A good pika takes perfect spacing not to get ***** by, (situationally) one grab and you're screwed.

took me like 3 mins, I type 90 wpm and I think fast.

Worth the time IMO, if only for the SK joke.

Eh, if Pika didn't exist, then Mario would probably be the most "well rounded." I could agree to that.

oh, i thought you quoted his post and literally put 'samus' in place of mario every time, then got antsy about whether it actually fit or not, spending time fixing it all up

by the way, i TOTALLY DIDN'T have that exact same idea before deciding it wasn't worth my time

SK jokes are always good \o/

I had the same idea too but I was like "meh someone else will do it"

I don't get the joke, is it because I used to always hate on Mario? That's so last year. It's all about Luigi hate now.

For all the guests reading, the best overall character is Pikachu.

He isn't well-rounded and has a terrible techroll, but he makes up for it in spades by dominating in everything that matters: fast moving with fast moves, easy neutral confirms to edgeguards or combos, exceptional edgeguarding, the only good recovery in the game, large hitboxes on all the moves that matter, etc

I don't like this idea of "only good recovery in the game." It seems like that only makes sense when we use melee or brawl as a standard off of which all of our stuff should be judged. Pikachu has an excellent recovery, mario has a good one, and ness's is ****. OK?

To be honest, I am being bias here by pointing out mario as I did to be obvious Battlecow, but I see you misunderstood to the point you tried to make your own 'scrubish' point you bum *** prostitute.

There is no 'best' or 'worst' character in Smash64, all of them can be used usefully along with able to counter character's generics such as how people say kirby isn't a real character, Kirby is and is pretty ***ing badass so stop making excuses or talking down about someone like Ness because they have a ball for up b and can be easily killed with edge guard.

Smash64 is what it is. What most of you lack, what puts you behind the line still of being top level from being a decent competitive player is the lack of knowledge of playing with characters and their hitboxes and general smash elements. You do not comprehend **** fast enough and make up **** to conclude why something is when the only point is that it is there.

I absolutely hate you all.

No, nothing to do with Pika. Just as a char. For example Mario is like 9/10 in every aspect with maybe Pika being the only one that is 9/10 and sometimes 10/10 (Like in recovery). Not saying those are exact numbers, but that's the gist of what I mean when I say "well rounded" char. So not really the best in terms of matchups and stuff. Although I think Pika is probably both (AKA best char and most well rounded).

EDIT: Hahaha +10 Soup for that title.

Pikachu has really good hitboxes, along with an insane Recovery. But Pikachu lacks a Drill, and a Spike. That's only thing I don't like about pikachu, but pika has Jab-Grab ability. And pikachu is a pokemon type character, pokemon were built for battling.
Also Knite your opinion is invalid, you cannot base someone on the way they act, and their bias opinions vs your bias opinions.

you don't need either of those things for a good character

drills are terrible for comboing against good players who DI and spikes aren't that necessary when you have so many amazing edgeguarding options

and jab grab is largely pointless in the grand scheme of things

Who said they were needed for a good character? I'm giving examples of why such and such reasons are what they are based in my opinion.
